From the age of nine Darcy Whyte dreamed of flying planes. The former software designer explored his passion for aviation art and science, and in 2005 developed the Squirrel
, a unique rubber band powered airplane.
The Squirrel’s distinct aerodynamic features allow the plane to fly hundreds of feet powered only by a common rubber band. It’s easy to build and requires little skill to fly, allowing just about anyone to take to the skies. And the Squirrel retails for under $10!
The inventor himself is an affable guy who delivers fun and informative workshops for educational and recreational organizations. Check out his YouTube videos
